An absolutely fantastic place to go for a holiday we had an amazing time and would definitely recommend it to others. The snooker table was really enjoyable also.

Ive just had an amazing weekend break at Pengwern Cottage in Wales with my extended family for my birthday, and I honestly cant recommend it enough. The place is out of this world a beautiful, traditional cottage thats been finished to an incredibly high standard. The snooker room and bar area were a big hit with everyone, and the outdoor space was equally impressive, with great facilities and stunning surroundings. It had absolutely everything we could have needed the attention to detail was outstanding. Our host was fantastic too friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was just right for our stay. It truly was everything I was looking for and more. Were already talking about when we can come back!

Incredibly beautiful location with scenic views of the valley. The house was quaint, rustic and very well equipt. We had everything we needed and more. Great games and entertainment for rainy days, ping pong, BBQ, outdoor seating and playground for kids. The snooker room made for an excellent hangout and entertainment room, and a nice perk to be able to stock a bar with enough glasses and a separate fridge, etc. Appreciated the dryboot room for wet clothes after a beautiful walk to Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall. Comfy well kept beds, warm water and enough showers and facilities for 15 people over the weekend. Cosy fire for the evening, whole house is kitted out with TVs, etc. Caroline was a great host, sharing her knowledge and recommendations as well as supplying firewood and good recycling facilities. She also helped with a breakdown we had on the drive. She was kind and attentive, only making herself available when needed. We couldn't have had a better stay. We will most definitely be coming back. Highly recommend! Huge thanks from all of us! Jordan
We couldnt be happier! Definitely recommend!

A comfortable old farmhouse much extended and with plenty of room for a large group. Games facilities are good, especially snooker, pool, darts and table tennis. Outdoors there is a large terrace for barbecues and al fresco meals. In a delightfully quiet location with lovely views, but there is no shop locally and the village pubs are decidedly average. Bala Llyn Tegid is less than half an hour away by car offering swimming and paddleboarding. The property is managed by Caroline, who lives nearby and is friendly and always helpful.

Pengwern is in a superb location with stunning views and a variety of walks from the front gate. The property was spotlessly clean with an extremely wellequipped kitchen and plenty of outdoor furniture and barbecue for al fresco dining. Plenty of indoor activities fullsize snooker table, pool room, darts and board games for entertaining both children and adults. Outdoor table tennis and swing appreciated too. Caroline, the owner, was a great source of local knowledge and advice. Lots to do within a relatively short distance kayaking on Lake Bala, visiting Powys Castle and enjoying the sea and sand at Barmouth. Pengwern is highly recommended for an intergenerational holiday?

I booked Pengwern for me and my family. There was 15 of us in total. Really enjoyed the cottage for 3 nights. Location and views were lovely, especially at sunset. Most importantly, the place was thoroughly clean! I think kitchen lights should be changed to white LEDs as this would brighten up the kitchen at night. Makes it more visible when cooking. Also, I think large black bin and large recycling bins will also be beneficial as the ones currently there a little small. Apart from that, everything else was really good. Would be back again for sure
Caroline our host was so helpful and accommodating. The location, house and views were absolutely stunning. Thanks again Caroline for making our stay so great. Only downfall was the Sykes app, I felt they were very slow to respond to some questions we had about extending our stay but apart from that we had a great experience!
Pengwern was an amazing place to be, the house had everything and more we needed to accommodate our family gathering, the view was outstanding. An the owners very helpful. An plenty of places to visit in the area, very tranquil.
Amazing place. ..Had the best time ever with family and friends, everything you could wish for and more...Will certainlybe returning...
A fantastic property, as described. The host was helpful and welcoming. The home is practical and well located we took our large family of all ages, had plenty of space and great facilities.
Had an absolutely amazing stay at Pengwern. Caroline and her husband Matt were great, and showed us how everything worked. The house itself is amazing. The lounge with its fireplace was super cozy for us and let us chill out properly. The snooker room was great fun. Kitchen was well equipped and stocked up with all the kitchenware and utensils you could ever need brought my own but needn't have. And the location absolutely stunning. Close to Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfalls, which was great. Lots of hike trails, which are all given by the hosts in a handy guide! Would definitely come back, and would highly recommend!
Nicole
Absolute breathtaking home with amazing views. Everything you could need this place has got it. Enjoyed all the small touches including the old painting of the home in the living room. The owner was friendly, helpful and made us feel at ease. I would highly recommend for familys, friends and loved ones. Its remarkably big! Especially the snooker room and space provided. We would most definitely stay again.
Kathryn
Absolutely fantastic property for a family gathering. Clean, warm, very well equipped, games rooms are fantastic for evening entertainment. Lovely patio area with amazing views. Loads of good information about local walks and things to do. The hosts are friendly and made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a wonderful time at Pengwern and definitely recommend it.
A superb, spacious holiday home in peaceful surroundings and with stunning views. We were a group of 3 families coming together for a week, and the house provided great spaces to be together, and to be apart when required. The snooker room and table was a highlight, whilst the pool table room was also a cosier option. The Sky TV reception was a little hitandmiss at times but the internet strength was good enough for us to get TV through my own Firestick instead. The owner, who lives next door, was helpful but not intrusive. Once you're down the relatively steep driveway, there are some nice, flat lanes down the valley to walkjog. One of the best holiday homes we've stayed at!
Charlie
The property despite looking amazing in the photos far exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing time and can't wait to come back in the future. Thank you so much for having us.
Gareth
Wow! An absolutely amazing house in a wonderful location. The house had everything we needed and more and we never tired of the wonderful views. Every room was beautifully appointed. The snooker and Pool tables provided great entertainment and the kitchen enabled the entire group to comfortably eat together. The owner provided all the information requiredasked for. We had a wonderful reunion and will hopefully be back for another one.
Andrew
Fantastic place to stay, hosts were extremely helpful.
Samuel
Brilliant property in a beautiful location. Perfect for families wanting a relaxing break with loads to explore and enjoy. Owner was very helpful and friendly.
The House is simply amazing, me and the guys had a fab time! The house had everything a large group could need in a stunning location! Caroline the host was super helpful from when we booked to when we left, nothing was a problem. Will certainly be back.
Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. We were a family of 14 celebrating a special occasion. The house is full of charm and has everything you need for your stay. It is fully equipped and felt very warm and cosy. The bedrooms are all spacious and beds very comfortable. Everyone reported a good night's sleep. The view sat on the patio area is spectacular. The little ones enjoyed the play area. The host was welcoming and informative about the local area. I would highly recommend a stay at this lovely house. We hope to come back.
Have just returned from a great week at Pengwern. Lovely, spacious, property with stunning outlooks and great facilities, particularly the well equipped kitchen and the games room. Drying room was especially useful for the Welsh weather. The owners have addressed the issues with the central heating which were previously commented on and we found the property to be nice and cosy. The log burners were nice to have on in the evenings, too. Would highly recommend this property and we hope to return sometime soon.
Had a lovely weekend with family. House had everything you could want and is in a lovely setting with beautiful views. Caroline, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful.
Zero complaints about the place and will definitely be on our shortlist for when we have long weekends as a large group. The place was absolutely perfect for a large contingent of people. Myself and 14 of my friends had an absolutely great time. Gamesroom is perfectly sized for a large group of people, lounge was a bit of a squeeze but it was fine given we had a nice rug and a fire in front of us. Location was easy enough to find, we used a satnav but do ensure that you have paper directions as well. We tempered expectations with Heatingwater pressureWiFi given the location was quite rural, but we were pleasantly surprised that none of these were an issue at all, especially given the size of the booking. Kitchen was well equipped that I was comfortably able to cook for the 15 strong party. I would advise bringing your own knives though as I found the kitchen knives a tad blunt but thats really a nonissue for a couple of days. Rooms were lovely. There is a single bedroom within the master bedroom, so its more like 7 bedrooms than 6, which is big positive for a mixed group of people. Also, watch your head

It was miserably cold! Theres no hot water and heating! The owner Caroline was helpful, but there was only so much she could do when the heating system was inadequate for the farmhouse. Everything else was fine The farmhouse has been carefully designed, beautiful views and well equipped.
Louise
The house was so spacious and very homely. Had all the amenities you could think of, couldn't have hoped for more. The snooker and games rooms were used all weekend and a brilliant addition. We were made to feel very welcome. The accommodation was very clean. The original features, grounds and views were stunning. The owner, Caroline was lovely and helpful. Will definitely book again for next year!
Serina
What a lovely stay. Everything was perfect. House has everything you need and in a great location for exploring. Caroline was the best host so attentive and kind we wouldnt hesitate for to come back. Thanks for the best stay.
Pengwern was fantastic and fitted the remit for the 40th birthday celebrations we were having. With plenty of rooms and a large kitchensnooker room for entertainment this accommodation did not disappoint. The views from this property in the morning on the terrace with a nice cup of tea were amazing and could of stayed for another few days! Thank you Caroline and your friend for all of the help and guidance before arrival and when we arrived.
Louisa
The house and location are both lovely, comfortable and with plenty of room for our party of 8 adults and two small children. Caroline was incredibly helpful and responsive to all our questions. We had a lovely week, enjoying the very efficient stove and comfy sofas, the well equipped kitchen, excellent snooker room, and especially the beautiful scenery and walks in rain and sunshine. Thank you very much.
We absolutely loved Pengwern. Fantastic host. Beautiful picturesque spot away from it all. Lots of space and seems as though Caroline our host had thought of everything. Perfect property for our large family holiday. Hope to return soon.
This property was nothing short of exceptional! The location and the view was just perfect! Excellent host and excellent communication. I would definitely come back again happily. Thank you soo much Caroline for the warm welcome and this beautiful stay.
This was a perfect property for a large family group or group of friends. A glorious, peaceful setting with plenty of walks or trips to the lake. The house has a fantastic snooker room in which our family enjoyed games every night. Outside was a swing and slide structure perfect for our 4 and 7 year olds. Caroline, the owner was always on hand in a helpful and friendly way. Definitely a place we'd like to return to.
We were a family of 11 staying at Pengwern. A lovely quiet location with fantastic views. The house was large enough for the family to spread out without all being on top of one another. The youngsters loved their games room and older ones were in their element in the 'Billiards Room' and bar. The bedrooms were sizeable with good storage space, and everything we needed in the kitchen had been provided. A lovely comfortable retreat!
Couldnt of asked for a better weekend superb place superb views lovely host. There was nothing I could fault definitely be going back there one day
Lovely property, as described. Owners, who live across the way, are helpful and friendly but not intrusive. It is a 30 minute or so drive to supermarkets at Oswestry, but you just need to plan ahead, and there are 2 fridge freezers in the kitchen to help. The view is FABULOUS. Pool room is above the kitchen and snooker room is below the huge bedroom on the first floor at the back of the house. This bedroom has a single bedroom sectioned off within it.
Such a beautiful house. We had 12 ladies on a spiritual retreat. Plenty of space and comfy beds. We had everything we needed. Great energy in there. It snowed quite heavily and Caroline and partner were digging out paths for our cars. They couldn't help us enough. Fantastic couple !!! The surrounding scenery is amazing. Definitely returning!!!
We had a wonderful holiday in Wales. The house was in the most beautiful spot with stunning views. The house was really well equipped and absolutely brilliant for our children as there was so much to do! The owner Caroline was lovely, and always on hand to help. I'd highly recommend! ,
We spent an amazing family Christmas week here. There was loads to do and the scenery is stunning
This is our third family stay at Pengwern as previously we were made very comfortable, the house is made for families with plenty of space for all and a well equipped very large kitchen. Although the previous guest didnt find the wardrobes within the master suite, there is plenty of hanging space in there. Again the views were stunning emphasised by the morning frosts
