The grounds include a river, woodland and bridges, so young children and dogs should be supervised outside. A long sandy beach runs along this coast, with the easiest access points at Overstrand and Trimingham (both 2.5 miles); thanks to coastal erosion, this is a great spot to go fossil-hunting. The region is also wonderful for walking with the Norfolk Coast Path running in both directions. Opportunities for days out include Blickling Hall National Trust (11.5 miles), the magical BeWILDerwood (17 miles), and the popular seaside towns of Sheringham, Cromer and Mundesley (all within 8.5 miles).
