Local route · Follow tree symbols as you wind through Skelghyll Woods & discover some of the tallest trees in England. With benches at all the best viewpoints, this is a great short walk to enjoy at lunchtime. You may even spot a rare red squirrel too. 1 steep section.
Ambleside to Troutbeck Walk, Windermere
Local route · From Ambleside, walk through country lanes, woods & fields. Get views of Windermere, visit Troutbeck village & Townend farmhouse, before returning to Ambleside via a more challenging route over Wansfell Pike with great views over the surrounding fells.
