To reach Scafell Cottage by car, take the M6 to Junction 36, then follow the A590 and A595 towards Holmrook. Turn onto the minor road signposted Wasdale and continue for approximately 6 miles. Off-road parking for multiple vehicles is available at the property.
The nearest railway station is Seascale, located 11 miles from the cottage. From there, you'll need to arrange a taxi as public transport to Wasdale is extremely limited. Alternatively, Windermere station offers better connections but is 35 miles away.
