Wheatlands, Hayling Island

Wheatlands is a four-bedroom cottage on Hayling Island in Hampshire. This property sleeps up to eight guests and welcomes one dog. The separate external cabin provides flexible sleeping arrangements for multi-generational groups or teenagers wanting their own space. The main house features three bedrooms plus a double bedroom in the detached annexe.

Hayling Island sits between Langstone and Chichester Harbours with views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. The property stands one road back from the seafront. You can walk to the beach in minutes. The enclosed rear garden is a sun trap with a covered fishpond, waterfall, patio and lawn.

The main house has a king-size bedroom with en-suite bath and hand-held shower, a double bedroom with en-suite basin and WC and a ground-floor twin. There's a ground-floor shower room plus a separate single-storey cabin with a double bedroom and en-suite shower room. The open-plan living and dining room has bi-fold doors. The shaker-style kitchen includes a double electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Private parking for three cars is available.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (8 miles, 20 minutes) displays HMS Victory and the Mary Rose. The D-Day Story Museum (7 miles, 18 minutes) documents wartime history. Funland amusement park (2 miles, 6 minutes) has rides and attractions. The four-mile Hayling Billy coastal path starts nearby.

Wheatlands works brilliantly for larger family gatherings or group breaks. The cabin gives everyone breathing room whilst the garden provides outdoor space for all ages.
