Neuadd Wen Reviews

Welcoming, warm and cosy our family spent the festive week at Nuadd Wen. A Christmas tree and decorations were waiting for us, adding to the lovely decor. The cottage is warm throughout and accessible for our elderly grandfather with it's ground floor bedroom. The well appointed kitchen had everything we needed for cooking festive meals. The valley is stunning and we enjoyed gentle strolls, including to the nearby pub. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
House is in impeccable condition. The rooms are properly sized and decorated. There is a lovely CD collection room Frank Sinatra to Ed Sheeran, and a set of mini hifi to play the CDs. Fireplace was easy to use and kept us lads entertained.

Wonderful week at this quirky cottage, everything that you could need, the fizz and stacked fire logs ready to light, were a lovely touch, the owner was easy to reach at any time, very comfortable beds, we were lucky with the weather and did some lovely walks round the area, the crown pub has new owners and isnt doing food, but we did have a lovely Sunday lunch at the Saracens Head. Would love to go back in the summer months to enjoy the beautiful garden.
Peaceful location, with friendly local pub within walking distance. The house had everything we needed, lived the spacious kitchen and the conservatory was perfect for sheltering from the rain. The beds are super comfy with lovely linen. Thanks Jill.
Lovely cottage, comfortable beds, powerful shower and a great bath. No issues with parking, also lots of nice walks locally. Everything we needed was included. We would definitely stay again.
We loved the quirkiness of this cottage. It was comfortable and had everything we needed, plus lots of space and different rooms for people to be in if they needed to be alone. Well situated for Snowdonia expeditions.
Comfortable and quirky perfect for a spot of R&R!
A fabulous cottage with everything you need, including a wellstocked kitchen, comfortable beds and a great shower. The garden was secure so we didn't have to worry about our dog escaping and, as the weather was good, we managed to take advantage of the outside seating. The local pub is less than a 5 minute walk and the owners are very welcoming. We would definitely come again and highly recommend the cottage.

We had a very enjoyable holiday at this lovely cottage. The property is wellequipped and suited our party of eight perfectly. Unfortunately we couldn't use the outside space due to the inclement weather but we were able to space out using the lounge, dining area and conservatory for our various activities. The owner has gone to a lot of trouble to make the accommodation attractive and comfortable. We loved it!
Such a beautiful country cottage! A perfect long weekend away! Our family all loved our stay, lots of room for 5 adults, 2 under 5's & a dog. The bedrooms were comfortable, the new large kitchen had everything we possibly needed. The lounge was comfy & very quaint & the conservatory was a lovely added bonus. We enjoyed the garden to the full, lots of games of hide & seek with the children, sunbathing on the patio & bbq & eating out. The little village is in a beautiful wooded valley with a river running through & the Crown pub with very friendly owners & staff. We visited Betsw y Coed, Corwen for the Pen y Pigyn walk & Lake Bala when we could tear ourselves away from the cottage & Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr!
Jill was very helpful and on call if we needed her. Cottage was comfy and homely. Would definitely return.

This is our third time to Neuadd Wen, we thoroughly love this location, quiet and peaceful. The property is a lovely quaint cottage we certainly would love to retire to. As a base for North wales its perfect, we visited Llandudno, Conwy, Betswy coed, Barmouth, Harlech Slate Caverns and Rhug estate as all are within easy reach. And dont forget The Crown pub for an evening drink and meal. The weather was fantastic for October, we were very fortunate. Looking forward to hopefully returning. thanks

This is the most beautifully appointed holiday accommodation nestled in a sleepy Welsh village in the heart of Wales. The owner has kept just the right balance of old and new throughout the property, so it is easy to find yourself transported back in time whilst still enjoying all the necessary modern amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the neighbours who are deadly quiet and thankfully kept to themselves. It added adventure and excitement as we imagined their histories and how many of them may have once lived in the house. We enjoyed candlelit evenings listening to the owners CD collection and playing Perudo and Linkee from the board game selection. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property. Thank you Jill xx
We had a great time, lovely cottage, very cosy with comfortable beds, plenty of space for us all3 adults &very active toddlerwell equipped large kitchen with plenty of utensils, friendly pub 2 minutes down the road with a nice walk down by the river, easy access to the A5 so getting out and about is easy, brilliant friendly communication from Jill the owner who was very easy to contact, neighbours are deathly quiet so no disturbance from them at all, highly recommend this cottage for a great holiday in Wales.

Really loved staying in this beautiful cottage! Very clean and welcoming! Beds were so comfy and the cottage was ideal for a short break. The pub was a very short walk away and they were very friendly. Our host Jill was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely stay with all you could wish for in terms of location and facilities. We were a party of five adults and dog so the large bedrooms were very much appreciated. Loved the shabby chic interiors and functional bathrooms. Only thing we struggled with was living room sofa was too low for our creaky joints. Owner kept us informed of arrival details and we knew she was there should sometime up it didn't!. Son and daughter made good use of the Crown Inn too. Definitely would recommend this property

We had a fantastic time at Neuadd Wen. Lovely big cottage that offers a home from home feel with space and a beautiful garden. This cottage was ideal for my family of 4 plus my parents, we enjoyed most of our time out in the garden playing and exploring. Our 4 and 1 year old also loved the river down the lane near the local pub, ideal for a little evening paddle when the weather is nice. The only thing I would recommend, because we have 2 young children, would be offering a stair gate in the living area leading up to the upstairs bedrooms but thats just a minor. Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend and book again

Schattig en compleet huisje in prachtige omgeving. Tuin is prachtig!Huisje heeft wel wat achterstallig onderhoud en hier en daar vochtproblemen.
We stayed as a family of 5 two under two and one teenager along with my parents. The cottage has lovely bedrooms with comfy beds. The kitchen is very well equipped and the dining room is a nice space to share as a family. The location is ideal, quiet and relaxed but also close enough to drive to most places. There is a forest 5 minutes away that is ideal for walkers and dogs the Alwen Reservoir is another great walking option and that is only a 10 minute drive. Jill was the perfect host and responded to any queries immediately. The only complaint we could possibly make is the low kitchen doorway. There were a few sore heads until the tall members of our family adjusted to ducking as they went through. Apart from that, a beautiful cottage, in a great location with plenty of home comforts.
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Plenty of room for 2 families like us. Rooms were smaller than they appeared on the photos, but still enough room. Only one criticism is that it is right next door to a small graveyard, which spooked us initially, but at least the neighbours were dead quiet lol. I'd definitely recommend this lovely cottage.

We had a lovely stay and the owners made the while process simple with details instructions prior to abd during stay. They left us a bottle of wine which was a lovely.m, thoughtful touch and the guide book and things to do booklets really made it feel like a holiday
Neuadd Wen is a beautiful cottage well positioned as a base for adventures in North Wales. The cottage itself is comfortable and full of character with beautifully refurbished bathshower rooms. It was clean and welcoming, and the landlady had kindly left the log fire prepped and ready to go. That fire was absolute perfection to warm and soothe aching muscles after climbing Snowdon on the Saturday. It's positioned close to Ruthin 20 mins and Betws y Coed 30 mins, with Rhug Estate and Farm Shop about 15 mins away, useful for EV drivers as it has plenty of Instavolt units there. We'd have no hesitation in recommending Neuadd Wen!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Once you get used to the layout, which doesnt take long, its a pleasure to be in. Lovely garden area, kitchen is great and lovely open fire all add to the charm. Ideal location for touring the local area and lots of great walking too. Very handy pub less than two minutes away to top things off. Would certainly come back. Thanks so much.
Lovely weekend away in this quaint cottage. Visited Betwsy Coed few times.. did a Treasure trail there. Ate,at The Stables. Sunday walk in the forest. Well equipped cottage, in a quiet, peaceful location. Dog was happy too in the enclosed garden.
Lovely homely cottage, everything provided that we needed, Jill was on hand if we needed any help but everything went smoothly. Shame we visited in February there is a lovely patio that would have been nice to sit out on, but the conservatory was lovely on an evening with pretty lights . Lovely pub at the bottom of the road, serving tasty food.
We had a great time at Neuadd Wen. The house is a little maze of cosy rooms. We particularly liked the fire place in the lounge and the big table in the dining rooms that was able to accommodate all eight of us. The winter garden gets a nice bit of sun in the morning and the kitchen is spacious and very wellequipped. It seems that the house is slowly being renovated and some parts of the house and bedrooms are more modern than others. Great value for money and we hope to come back. Many thanks to Jill.
Our second family get together at this gorgeous cottage. Top marks all round from all the family. We all absolutely loved it, and are already thinking about our third visit. Lovely location, with loads to see and do within easy reach. Simply superb
Catherine
This house is perfect family getaway and very well equipped for your day to day activities. Felt like home from the minute we stepped inside. Well stocked local store selling local produce was a bonus as was the friendly welcome at the pub within walking distance.
Debbie
It was a lovely cosy cottage with updated bathrooms and shabby chic sofas. The beds were all comfy. In the kitchen there is everything you can think of to cook bake etc . We loved the log burner, looking to go back in the summer to make use of the lovely garden and BBQ. Great for the dogs , Jill even has throws and dog bowls in case you need them .
Brilliant stay in a lovely cottage, would definitely recommend to any groups looking for break. Great value for money!
This a lovely Welsh cottage to go to relax and get away from busy everyday life. It is well maintained with plenty of modcons without loosing any of its rural charm. There's even a local pub that serves good local food. This is a great location to explore some amazing Welsh scenery.
A lovely property with easy access and great spaces for spending time with the family.
Carole
Great property in lovely area. Was very dog friendly with good facilities. Close to a lovely friendly local pub. Good spot for exploring the area.
Superb cottage for our first family get together. Full of character, loads of space for us all, and a great garden. We all loved it, and topped off with a great host. Thanks again
