Lower Hodre Reviews

Wow, wow, wow! !!! What a house, lovely owners and location what more can you ask for?! We all said it was total escapism for a few days with its stunning location ideal for walks andor total peace and tranquility. Personally for me seeing so many red kites swooping around the house and so close that you could see all their detail was the cherry on the top!

Lovely stay at Lower Hodre. A comfortable place to stay in beautiful surroundings, the hot tub was a hit for the whole family. The host, Emma couldnt do enough for us, recommending somewhere to eat and a village to take the kids trick or treating. We had a problem with the heating on the first day she arrived within 10 minutes of us raising it with her and then had it all sorted within a few hours. Thank you very much!
We had a lovely, relaxing time at Lower Hodre. We had forgotten how beautiful it was from our past visit 2 years ago. The house was beautifully presented and immaculate. We enjoyed the hot tub. We appreciated the welcome pack and thank Emma who had thought of everything for our relaxing and peaceful holiday.

Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend at your cottage! We had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The place was spotless, beautifully set up, and had everything we needed to feel right at home. The hot tub was definitely a highlight it was the perfect way to unwind in the evenings and made the whole experience feel extra special. Also some lovely walks nearby. The host was lovely, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place for a stay!

The property was as expected, it had everything we needed and is in a lovely location. The owners were great and came by to say hello after wed arrived and were quick to respond to any queries. We booked this property as we were looking for one with a hot tub. Unfortunately the hot tub broke on the second night so we got a little bit of use but were unable to use it on the second half of our stay which was a real shame. Overall a pleasant stay.
A wonderful place to stay in amazing countryside. Very homely feel and Emma & Edward were fantastic in looking after us all. Massive thank you to them.
This was our second stay at Lower Hodre, and we had an amazing time. The house is very cosy and well kept. There is plenty of space for a large group. There were lots of basics provided in the kitchen which was appreciated. The hot tub is spacious and was ready to use throughout the stay. The garden was secure for dogs. The location is beautiful and we found lots of good walks nearby. The owners were welcoming and responsive throughout our stay. We hope to return again in the future!

Beautiful house and views. Highly recommend. Would love to go again
We stayed at Lower Hodre for 3 nights 7 adults and 2 children and loved every minute of it! The photographs do not do the house justice it hasany quirky rooms and is set in beautiful remote surroundings. The children loved exploring the house, gardens and days out at Clun Festival and nearby Wood n Ribbon. Once you have stocked up on all your essentials the house has everything you need for some quality time away with friends and family! Emma is a fantastic host and was on hand to answer any questions even going the extra mile to drive to nearby village to pick up a parcel for one of the party! We cannot wait to come back to Lower Hodre
Fabulous home from home. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. We were made so welcome on our arrival that we felt like we were visiting good friends. A unique and gem of a find.

Lower Hodre is a beautiful old House in the middle of the rolling Shropshire hills . It has everything you might need for a comfortable country holiday. Lots of parking, a big well equipped kitchen and several downstairs rooms. The bedrooms were comfortable and very clean. The broadband is more than fast enough for a family that likes to remain connected. The views are all tremendous with lots of nature to see an the big hot tub is perfect.. If you want to get away from it all then book this house. If its available the days you want it then book it .. Take walking boots and seasonally appropriate coats for the walks all around.. Take your binoculars if you have them to watch the Red Kites.
We had a fantastic stay at Lower Hodre and it fulfilled all of our expectations the property was clean, well stocked and spacious enough for our family, while the host was friendly, responsive and helped with all of our requests. Would highly recommend.

Lower Hodre is a well equipped, beautifully decorated and furnished, comfortable, spotlessly clean property in a beautiful setting. A perfect place to stay for a family gathering although there are quite a few low beams and steps. 8 of us stayed there for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would definitely stay there again. Loved the hot tub and watching the wild rabbits in the field opposite!

We had a fantastic time at Lower Hodre over the weekend. The house was exactly what we were after for a get together of 8 adults and 5 children. Everything we needed was there a well equipped kitchen, plenty of seating areas and a great patiohot tubgarden area. We especially liked how private and safe the location is so the children could be outside playing without us worrying. Thank you very much!
Daphne
The biggest issue was the garden listed as 'enclosed' which it wasn't. We had 2 dogs and an autistic child who all needed very close supervision because they either escaped onto the road or into the neighbouring property. The outdoor furniture is in need of updating. The table in particular was rotting with a plank missing. However, the cottage was still a wonderful experience and it wouldn't take much to make it 5 stars across the board.
Thank you for a lovely weekend. We were a party of 8 adults and three childreninfants, all very comfortable in Lower Hodre. Emma was friendly and welcoming.
Carole
The cottage is beautiful and was ideal for our stay, very spacious and full of character. The owner Emma is a delight to communicate with and very kind and thoughtful, she went out of her way to ensure our weekend was just perfect.
I booked Lower Hodre to celebrate my 30th birthday with a group of close friends. I wanted to stay somewhere secluded, big enough, cosy enough and with a hot tub and enjoy a weekend away in the countryside.... I was not disappointed!! Everyone had an amazing time. Emma, the host, was so accommodating, kind, friendly and welcoming of us into her home. You can tell Emma has a genuine care for her guests and wants them to enjoy their stay in her property which was really lovely to experience. The place was immaculate. Check in was mega easy. I think this was the best hot tub I've been in extremely clean and maintained very well. Bonus that it was so close to the house and undercover too. There was plenty of space for us all. The house itself was gorgeous. The kitchen was very well equipped too, with all the essentials. I couldn't have picked a better place for us to stay. Emma, thank you so much. I'd love to come back one day! All the best xx
We had a fantastic stay at Lower Hodre. The house and grounds are beautiful and well kept. It was the perfect spot for a large group get away. Would definitely recommend, and would stay again!
Property needed a little refresh in places but otherwise we had a lovely stay. Shame no champers & Ferrero Rocher on the kitchen top when we arrived as per snaps! Theyre my fav
Beautiful cottage in idyllic surroundings. We stayed for 2 nights wanted to stay longer but work commitments of one of our party meant we couldnt. I could have easily stayed here for alit longer though. The cottage and surrounding area was so beautiful and peaceful and even my dog didnt want to leave! Emma the owner was lovely so accommodating and friendly. Will definitely book here again .
Just back from a lovely family holiday at Lower Hodre. Highly recommended for a break in the beautiful rural Shropshire Hills area. Plenty of hilly walking locally. Lovely local towns. Large, clean house with a great kitchen and of course the super hot tub. Looking forward to returning some time.
An amazing house in the most picturesque setting. We couldn't have wished for a better weekend break, the house was absolutely immaculate with lots of space, but comfortable too. Emma, the owner came over to meet us, she's such a lovely person, very helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for her. The hot tub was just perfect, loads of room for 5 of us to chill and relax whilst enjoying the stunning scenery. We really didn't want to leave this beautiful place, and are looking forward to returning again soon. Many thanks Emma. Marian & family

The house is in a beautiful setting. The garden is safe for little ones to play in. We all loved the wildlife around the house especially watching the house martins building their nest. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Relaxing in the hot tub looking at the view was amazing.
