Danecote Reviews

Kate
Absolutely excellent for a family break and get together. The pool was very exciting for the children and it was used every day. The accommodation was well equipped and we cooked large family meals every day.
Barbara
Perfect house for our large family celebration- the pool and games room were a great hit with everybody.
Garry
Lovely cottage very clean well furnished.
Stephanie
Ideal house for family gatherings. Close to beautiful quiet beach, great for children and dogs. Our family had a lot of fun in the pool and the garden.
Julie
A beautiful cottage with everything you need for a self catering holiday. It is just a few steps away from a fantastic sandy beach. The closest pub is within easy walking distance. Not the best of establishments, but if you just want a beer sitting outside overlooking the beach on a sunny evening, its perfect. The games room is an excellent idea. Not much in there apart from the pool table that's not level. It makes for an interesting game! The room smelt terribly of wet dog. We all loved the swimming pool. A lovely welcome pack in the kitchen on arrival. Overall, a lovely old house situated perfectly for a family beach holiday or for a get together with old and new friends. We had a lovely holiday but not sure we would stay at that cottage again.
Nigel
Lovely place, well equipped with nice garden and indoor pool. We all had a great time , a wonderful place for large family groups.
Jennifer
A beautiful house with a good sized (very warm) pool and a games room. We were a party of 11 ranging in age from 3 to 74 and it was perfect for everyone. An added bonus is the short walk to the beach (and a slightly longer walk to an excellent ice cream shop!)
Alison
Wow! A superb house that met the needs of 4 generations. The swimming pool was a huge hit. This property was picked by us just in case the weather was bad and we would be able to have a swim instead. We were very lucky, we had both!
Shelly
An absolutely beautiful house which is well kept and extremely comfortable. Everything you need is at the property and it made a fantastic weekend break for a group of friends. Lovely and close to the beach for nice walks and pubs not far away either ! Would 100% come back!
Michelle
We had an amazing week away at Danecote. The house is perfect for a big family getaway. The pool and games room were a huge hit and enjoyed every day. The house is comfortable, spacious and well equipped with everything you need. The location is absolutely amazing a stoneΓ’??s throw away from the beach with plenty of places to eat. We will definitely be back thank you!
Vicki
Brilliant cottage with plenty of space and excellent location to the beach. Very clean. Swimming pool and games room are a great option for families. Owner and team quick to respond to queries and very helpful. We had a lovely time - thank you!
Bruce
We all thoroughly enjoyed Dancote and the teenagers were kept amused with the pool and games room pool table. We all returned to our homes happy!
Kelly-Marie
ItΓ’??s a really beautiful home with some interesting history! Very nicely furnished! Plenty of space for a large group and very clean and tidy. All of the bedrooms were lovely, comfy beds, pillows and duvets. It was also a very warm house. The location was great with a short walk to the beach and we ordered a takeaway from the local Chinese which was nice. We made use of the games room and pool, although the pool was not heated to a warm temperature - it was luke warm. We made full use of the kitchen for an evening meal and had everything that would be needed cupboards wise. And we were left a lovely welcome basket of food on arrival. Parking is a little tricky but with a bit of Tetris we managed to fit 3 cars in and then parked one car across the gate once shut. We would definitely visit again - I can imagine itΓ’??s even more beautiful in the summer!
Matt
This is an excellent holiday home. The beach is a 5-10 minute walk and there is a shop, pub, cafe and fish & chips all within walking distance. We were an extended family of 9 and the layout worked out well for us, 4 bedrooms upstairs and 2 down stairs. All bar 2 have an en-suite with those final two upstairs bedrooms sharing the main bathroom. The lounges, dining area and kitchen are all well equipped. The swimming pool was warm and well used by the kids and is in a separate building which can be locked to stop the kids going in unattended. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the break and a large chunk of this was to do with the quality of this holiday home. Highly recommeded.
Susan
A beautifully decorated, comfortable house. It was ideal for 3 generations. The extra sitting room was a perfect playroom. Great pool and beautiful, quiet beach in easy walking distance.
Peter
Great location, near the beach and a playpark, around 5 minute walk. Local shop and chippy within one mile. Lovely swimming pool. Family of 12 (6 adults, 6 children ranging from age 12 to age 4). Double oven and tumble drier meant for easy cooking and drying swimwear.
Shirley
The house and location are very good and perfect for large parties. The swimming pool and games room were much enjoyed.
Chloe
Excellent holiday cottage for a big family. Lovely having the extra living room and the big bedrooms meant we all had the space we needed. The beach is so close it was excellent. My family loved the short walk to the beach. The pool was the highlight for us. The kids were in it everyday. Shallow end with steps and a deep end. It is also accessed with a key so you feel safe knowing children donΓ’??t have access all the time. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. We managed to cook our Easter lunch for 11 with the two ovens and the big dining table meant we all were able to sit together and enjoy our afternoon. Bacton area has a small shop, pub and fish and chip shop. All the locals are lovely and friendly. Thank you for making our holiday a great one.
