Bicton Lea, Clun

We were very fortunate to be able to book again for Xmas 2025 and were lucky to have the most beautiful weather too on Xmas Day & Boxing Day. We were also altogether this year Adam in the forces not being away on a tour. We walked to Clun along the footpath and enjoyed the lovely old fashioned village still with two pubs. We also visited Bury Ditches wonderful Hillfort site with fantastic views then Clunton Coppice both a short drive. I had a hot tub visit under a starry sky at midnight with my eldest son. It seemed even more special all of us being together as my youngest son is relocating to Cornwall and we are on the verge of moving so our present house is half packed and we are returning to Shrewsbury. In all this stress the very minute we arrived at Bicton Lea it all disappeared. We enjoyed the company and entertainment of the friendly horses and stunning location. The house is immaculately clean with masses of room for us all so we had a Xmas I will treasure the memory of. Thank you Jason & Jenna.

This was our 6th or 7th stay at Bicton Lea, and it was as magical and comfortable as it's always been. Jenna and Jason are the best of hosts, and we look forward to returning next year.

We were in the Clun valley, surrounded by hills every window framed a picture. Clun village was lovely, very quaint coffee shop. Youngsters loved the hot tub, spectacular views. We were a family of ten, four generations. Made friends with three horses in next field. As for the house, very well equipped. Loved the log burner, big comfy sofas, couldn't possibly count glasses and crockery, too many. Big walk in pantry. Christmas would be lovely there.

Lovely location with spectacular views, lovely large garden with horses at one end and we had cows at the other, lots of great local walks, hot tub was a nice touch, would have liked to have more comfy garden furniture but as there was only two of us it was fine. Biggest issue we had was the huge amount of flies around the house due to being on a farm with animals close by, had to keep doors and windows closed which was a pain given how hot it was while we was there, location is very remote so you will need to ensure you have plenty of supplies.

We loved the cottage and the hot tub. It really suited 4 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 kids and a dog. The kitchen was very well equipped. The write up accurately described the property and the location was idyllic. Thank you. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Super cottage for family get together. House spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of space in the garden for grandchildren and adults to enjoy. Hot tub great view and peaceful surroundings. Lots of lovely walks from the door step and no need to use the car. All good thanks.

We had the most amazing stay ,faultless in every way ,the cottage was well equipped,immaculate ,and the panoramic views were breathtaking . The grounds were beautiful and spacious two beautiful horses dancing around in the field opposite added a magic touch .we cant wait to return . Our 3 boys age 11,9,and 7 had the time of there lives ,and keep asking when can they go back to see Andy and Bob thats what they named the horses Thanks again for a fabulous stay .

Beautiful property and even better views. Perfect garden and we got really lucky with a sunny week. Would highly recommend this property. Had a couple of minor issues the start of the week with a few bits in the house but the owners were on hand and so helpful to quickly resolve. Good to see maintenance on the hot tub daily aswell

The property was perfect for our mixed age range group. Very spacious, well equipped, and warm. The views from the house are beautiful and sitting in the hot tub on a clear starry night was a wonderful experience.

We had a really beautiful Xmas at Bicton Lea. It is not all that far from where we live but has the capacity for our family whichever direction they are coming from and however much time they can take off work.The little ones were awed by the enormous and superbly decorated Xmas Tree in the conservatory which also made a magical grotto. We all had Xmas Eve and Xmas Day altogether except for my daughter's fiancee who is in the Army and was sent on tour in November until February. We hope he will be with us too next year possibly with a new baby if their IVF goes well on his return! The house was so welcoming and homely, wood burning stove laid up ready and all rooms spotlessly clean with fantastic views from every direction. We found lovely walks in the surrounding area and I loved Clun which reminded me somewhat of Ledbury back in the 1970s where my parents had a newsagents shop. An agricultural, laid back, friendly, quirky place, totally unpretentious yet with dramatic castle ruins in a spectacular setting. We used a hot tub many years ago when attending a wedding in Yorkshire, also staying at a farm and we found ourselves surprised how good it made us feel. The daily maintenance of the tub here was very reassuring and everyone enjoyed time in the hot tub except our little ones who are too young at present. We were fortunate to have starry nights and sunny days after initially wind and heavy rain. Bicton Lea felt so homely we were sad when it was time to leave.

Outstanding property we have been back every year for our annual Christmas holiday for the last 3 years. To turn up and the fire is lit and burning is just above and beyond and a lovely touch. One downside only would be that there are lots of flies in the bedroom closest to where the cars are parked small double but apart from that, it is always an excellent experience and great location.

A really lovely house in a quiet setting with great views. Bicton Lea is very spacious with lots of rooms making it ideal for a large group of guests. The furniture and fittings are first class.

The house was amazing and the owner very accommodating. The hot tub was very clean along with the house and there was more than enough of everything needed would 100 recommend a stay in this property

Had a week away at Bicton Lea and cant wait to go back,as others have said,the pictures really dont do it justice! !!amazing house with stunning views,the hot tub is fantastic and again has amazing views,if there is such a thing were all over relaxed,even our blind dog Louis loved it, It should be renamed from Bicton Lea to the tardis if you know you know.

Perfect in every way. Glorious views, horses in the field next door, fullyequipped house with more than adequate facilities and friendly people. Lovely day trips to local towns and Welsh castles, good pubs and restaurants, peace and quiet. Bring fly spray!

The cottage is beautiful, the ground is beautiful. The cottage and ground is spacious. Me and my family came here for my sisters birthday, we played rounders, made use of the hot tub and had a bbq which we took with us but didnt need to as the cottage had one. The cottage beds were really warm and comfy, the log burner was amazing and we were provided loads of logs! There is a small area under the stairs with books, cards and games which my nephew enjoyed. The pictures doesnt do this property any justice. The owners live local and are at hand if anything is needed. We enjoyed watching the farmer moving the sheep from one field to another. The views this cottage looks out on are so relaxing! We ordered take away but went to collect as most local takeaways shut 10pm ish. Beautiful stay, beautiful cottage!

We just returned from a 3 night stay here on the weekend on a family break, there were 10 of us in total. We enjoyed our stay so much none of us wanted to go home! The house is beautiful and very well presented and clean throughout, we couldnt fault the cleanliness of the property, and plenty of towels were provided too which I thought was good, the children aged between 212 enjoyed playing in the huge grounds of the property, we closed the gate and allowed them to ride their scooters up and down the drive safely, they also enjoyed going in the hot tub every day. We also found time to play a game of rounders all together on the big lawn. Each bedroom had the most gorgeous view out of the windows and there was nothing better than waking up and having a cup of coffee on the terrace listening to the birds. We really felt comfortable in the property and will definitely return again. Thank you for the lovely memories made in your beautiful home!

The advert completely undersells the property it is much better in person! We've had such a comfortable 5 days in Bicton Lea, a gorgeous house in a magnificent setting. The views are incredible. The small touches hand wash, toilet roll, washing up etc. are all very welcomed and missed from other cottages we've rented. The cleanliness was fantastic. We all had an amazing and will look to come back in the future!

We had a great time at Bicton Lea. There was so much room for a family of 9.lots of crockery & pans .Everyone enjoyed the jacuzzi, we would definitely come again

This was our 2nd stay at Bicton Lea and once again we had the best weekend in a property that housed all of us comfortably it was our Christmas get together as we are unable to spend Christmas together. We hope to return again next year

We had a super stay as a mixed family group from 875. We loved the hot tub and the wood burner and it was lovely to be able to eat together in the dining room. There was plenty of room for everyone and the separate snug was a real bonus for the teenagers. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed saying good morning to the sheep every day!

Great family accommodation in a beautiful part of the country. Very clean comfortable house in its own grounds. I would definitely recommend this to large groups or families.

A lovely property and stay for our party of six adults and three small children. Secluded with beautiful views across the countryside, but near enough to shops. Comfortable and well and thoughtfullyequipped. In fact, there was more than advertised, eg an extra highchairbaby equipment which would have been useful to know about. Would recommend.

An incredibly beautiful property with scenic views of the countryside. The cottage was very clean and spacious and wellequipped with essential utensils. Many board games were provided which were fun for the kids! The jacuzzi was the highlight of our stay there!

We stayed at Bicton Lea over Christmas, there were 10 of us, 7 adults and 3 children and we had plenty of room for us all. The house is beautiful and so are the surroundings, it was perfect for a group holiday. The house has everything you need and we were very thankful for the large american fridgefreezer and the pantry! The bedrooms are all large and very comfortable. The lounge was big enough for us all to sit comfortably and with the fire on was very cosy. The hot tub was lovely and the host was very helpful with providing cots, stair gates and highchairs for our little ones. The only negative thing we could say about our stay was that it went too quickly! We would definitely recommend Bicton Lea and definitely will be back one day!

Bicton Lea is a lovely place to stay. There was a family of 9 plus 2 dogs and we all loved it. Everything we needed and rooms beds etc all lovely and clean. Gorgeous Christmas tree in the conservatory and fairy lights lighting up the staircase made the atmosphere perfect. As a family we are unable to spend Christmas Day together and the time here was our Christmas together it was perfect. Would stay again.

We couldnt of expected anything more, a real home from home feeling. Great space to allows people to come together, but also enough space to allow you to have your own time. We enjoyed using the space to have dinner and breakfast together while hosting our own little cocktail night via the kitchen hatch. We made great use of the hot tub, which was maintained every morning by the owners. It was nice to sit outside either morning, afternoon or night and take in the views while having a glass of fizzy. The snug under the stairs was a great touch, a few of us enjoyed completing the 1000piece jigsaw as well as playing card games. The beds were incredibly comfortable, we all managed to get peaceful sleeps. A massive thank you for this home, after loosing one of our best friends who was meant to join us on this getaway we still managed to enjoy ourselves and she would of loved this property. Thank you again.

The property is lovely and situated in beautiful countryside with great views. Lovely garden, ideal for families and dogs. The property is extremely well equipped and the big bonus for us compared to other houses we have used in the past was the generous space to store food! Great to have a pantry for that. Comfortable seating in lounge although recliners didn't seem to work. Nice to eat together in dining room, there is room for the whole group if you add a couple of chairs from the conservatory. I'd have preferred comfy seating in the conservatory as it's got great views and woul be a perfect spot to relax. Easy to keep clean with a covered porch, leading to utility space for cleanimg muddy boots and dogs. Lots of space to park several vehicles. The only downside for us was the ridiculous check out time of 9am. This spoils the last breakfast and impinges on evening before. I understand the owners have 3 properties to clean but this approach basically leaves you a day short with late check in and the early check out. With the need to strip beds and empty and clean the property before leaving it is a very early start on the last morning. Otherwise everything about this place is brilliant and I would definitely recommend it.

Had a lovely weekend break at Bicton Lea. Fabulous countryside, and views. The house is spacious, we had a party of 9, 6 adults, 3 teenagers and 1 dog. Garden is large, so the dog could run around to his hearts content. The only downside was that there wasnt enough seating in the dinning room or sitting room for us all to be together. There are 2 dinning rooms one seating 6 and the other, which is through double doors and down a step in the conservatory, seating 4. The sitting room had a large recliner that sat 5, and a tub chair. Again there was another sitting room that sat 3. The separate rooms are great if you have members of your party that want to sit separately , but as we were having a family celebration we did want to been together in the evening. It would be ideal to have these details in the summary section on the booking page.

We had a great time at Bicton Lea, the house was so well equipped, unlike other properties, we could actually get all of us sat in the lounge and round the table. The second TV room was brilliant for the teenagers and giving us both a bit of space both had big screen TVs!. The kitchen was really well kitted out and with a full length American style fridge freezer, so plenty of space. All the bedrooms were really good sizes the master with ensuite is huge!! And the family bathroom shower was really powerful, again often something that is a bit of a let down in other cottages. The dining area and conservatory were again brilliant in letting people split off into little private areas and we all loved the snug reading area under the stairs stacked with books and games!. The whole place was really nicely decorated and felt new and everything was so clean. The garden was huge dog had a great time and again looked like new garden furniture with full size umbrella on the patio where we would sit and take in the fantastic view, plus the hot tub which was amazing and checked everyday by Jason at about 530am I only know because I happened to be awake one day as he was super quiet,. We cannot recommend the property enough,vthank you Jenna and lovely to chat to you too Jason, highly recommend!!!

It was a lovely stay and we all enjoyed it very much, the added bonus of the hot tub was great and the views were just amazing! ! The animals thats surrounded were adorable and it made it a fabulous peaceful setting to stay at and we had all we needed to enjoy our time. Thanks

A spacious holiday home in a lovely and quiet rural setting perfect for a large gathering of friends and family. We recommend the White Horse in Clun great food and a very friendly atmosphere.

Absolutely fantastic property, perfect size for a family of 8 adults, 1 teenager and 2 dogs! Lovely scenery and very easy to get too. We had the best weekend celebrating my mums 60th, she spent most the weekend in the hot tub! Would definitely return

Wonderful place for a family gathering. We had a very special time celebrating an important event in this fantastic house. As a bonus, the views were amazing, the gardens lovely and the hot tub was the icing on the cake.

The property exceeded expectations. The location was perfect and the layout of the house worked well for our group. The hot tub was a real plus and was enjoyed by us all.
